Morsbags

A few weeks ago I learned about sociable guerilla bagging. This is exactly why I love internet so much. Although far away on this small, beautiful island, it gives me the possibility to explore the world and find all the wonderful people that in their own way do whatever is in his or her power to make this world a better place. I am not so naive that I don't know that there is also a darker side to internet but so far all my experiences have been totally positive and it gives me a optimistic feeling. So much needed now in the difficult times we are experiencing.

So I also took out my sewing machine and made a couple of bags.

As I have written in the past, I am a total beginner with the sewing machine so I had to look for a easy, foolproof pattern. Well I found that here. Based on the morsbag idea, she made her own design that worked perfectly for me. It has a nifty little pocket in front where you can fold your bag into

I am not sure yet if I am ready to go "guerilling" yet but the idea is fantastic and I will sure give some bags to friends.

Oef, that was complicated!

For the last 5 hours I have been working on giving our green fox it's new home. Yes, he moved to another family. Not that there is anything wrong with the blogger family, au contraire! But I thought it would be easier to handle two totally different blogs at two different locations. Well I am not so sure now. It was pretty complicated to get used to another system and I need a lot more practice.
Anyway, our fox is finally introduced to the island and I am very happy to say that he was well received. We are totally ready for our project and I hope everybody remains as enthousiastic as they are right now. So no more writing about him on these pages. All updates on his own blog!

Now life can go on as usual.

Perfect!

We found the most perfect premises for our recycling operation Green Fox. Maybe it doesn't look like much on the photograph but it really is ideal. It has so much potential and is perfectly located. It also has a very positive energy feeling to it. And we can use it for free for a couple of months! But then we will have to decide: are we going for it all the way and rent it which means we have to do some serious fundraising. Of course it depends on how our project will be received. Well, we'll know that very soon.

It has been over a month since I first wrote about our ambitious plan for the recycling of waterbottles. Since then we have been very busy with planning and now we are finally coming to the really scary bit.

We introduced the Green Fox to the island. He will be our trademark and sign for our recycling plan. The idea of creating a mystery around the arrival of the green fox on the island has worked amazingly well. Nobody really knows exactly what it is all about and guesses and speculations of the wildest sort are coming to our ears.

In 10 days we will have to have our presentation ready and our plans more finalized so we can present it to the local population.

We will have to explain the importance of at least giving it a try and of starting on a small basis. With their help and support this can turn into something really special.

I am very excited about the whole project but also very anxious about the confrontation next week.

First finished project for 2011

Well, here it is.
My seaglass "chandelier" is finally hanging over the dining table. It has about 500 pieces of wire wrapped seaglass.

I am quite happy with the result.
And now I will pay a visit to the Seaglass Artist & Seaglass Collectors site to show my project. There are amazing artists on this site who make fantastic things so I hope they will be kind to me.

Almost there!

And it is about time. The diningtable is covered in wire-wrapped seaglass again. Everything was nicely packed away for a couple of weeks because we needed the table for obvious reasons such as Christmas dinners and New Years parties.
But now I am putting the finishing touches to this project and hopefully within a few days will post a picture of the final result.
